Dr. Claudia SIX

Clinical Sexologist & Relationship Therapist

Dr SIX holds an MA in Psychology, a PhD in Clinical Sexology, is Board Certified by the American Board of Sexology. She has over 30 years of experience doing sex & relationship therapy with menopausal women. She gave a TEDx talk about Sexual Performance Anxiety in Women and is a USF adjunct professor in the Psychology graduate department. She wrote a book about owning your sexual authenticity, titled Erotic Integrity.

Dr SIX began her own menopause with a bang at 46 when 11 symptoms kicked in at once. After a year of hourly (dripping!) hot flashes, she opted for HRT and began a new lease on life. This coincided with a bit of a sexual re-awakening, which persists today.

Born and raised in Paris, France, she brings a cultural ease engaging around the subject of ‘intimacy’ and people find her easy to talk to.

She is a firm believer in quality of life, physical, emotional, mental and sexual/sensual, whatever that looks like for every woman. Menopause is not the end, it’s a new beginning.

She addresses libido, painful intercourse, shifting priorities, body image, changes in sexual functioning (arousal, lubrication, sensations, orgasm), fears about aging, emotional changes in romantic relationships.

She has a perspective on desire that is different than most people, which menopausal women in particular have found liberating and non-pathologizing.

She operates on the premise that nobody is broken, nobody needs to be fixed, and all difficulties have a way of making perfect sense.

The emotional and interpersonal shifts of menopause are her specialty, especially as pertain to sexual expression.
